About Cecilia Cassinger
Cecilia Cassinger is an Associate professor at the Department of Communication, Lund University, with a PhD in Business Administration focused on marketing. Her research examines the role of branding and communication strategies in fostering social sustainability in places (cities, regions, nations), particularly during crises. Cassinger’s work has been published in various academic journals and edited volumes. She is co-editor of The Nordic Wave in Place Branding (Edward Elgar, 2019), Routledge Companion to Media and Tourism (Routledge, 2020), and most recently Communicating in the Face of Global Crises (Routledge, 2025).
