How to write good speeches
How to write good speeches people actually listen to
University leaders speak to audiences as diverse as students, professors, CEOs, ministers, EU commissioners, and even royalty. At the University of Copenhagen alone, the Rector and Pro-Rectors deliver more than 100 speeches every year—each one a chance to inspire, connect, and shape the university’s role in the world.
But here’s the challenge: How do you craft a speech that stands out? How do you make sure your message lands with the right audience? And how do you break free from the stereotype of the “ivory tower” academic?
To tackle this, UCPH created a dedicated speechwriting function embedded in leadership. Its mission: to help leaders deliver speeches that are vivid, memorable, and impactful.
In this seminar, KU speechwriters Jonas & Søren will share their unique approach and practical tools, including:
- How to avoid academic jargon and lifeless speeches.
- How to connect with your audience without sounding distant or overly formal.
- A checklist for crafting a great speech.
- Speechwriting hacks and workflow tricks from the inside.
Join us to learn and discuss how to turn speeches into moments that matter.
